FINISHES: Oceanic Bluestone is a basalt-based natural stone that allows the surface to be treated in a variety of finishes, i.e. flamed, brushed, bush hammered, and chiseled. In addition, honed and polished are also available.

SIZES: Sizes range from 5/8" x 5/8" mesh mounted mosaics to 24" x 48" panels. Tile sizes include 12" x 12", 18" x 18" up to 24" to 48". Slabs are available in a variety of finishes and are generally 3 cm (1 ¼") thick

DEFINITION: Bluestone "basalt is an extrusive igneous rock, sometimes porphyritic, and is often both fine-grained and dense." Thorntree's name for this stone, Oceanic Bluestone, is derived from the fact that some basalts are found on the ocean floor and oceanic islands.

SEALING: An impregnator is suggested.
